Since we are discussing faith in God, then death is a choice. In Christ Jesus, we choose life, eternal life, and we choose life when we believe in Him. That life begins the moment we find His faith is deposited within us and He sparks our understanding of who He is and what He has done in His death and resurrection. He has handled the penalty of sin, death, and created for all believers the route to God and eternal life.
Life in Christ is the journey of eternity. As we are continuing in this journey, we learn and grow in wisdom for a greater understanding of eternity. There is a point when we will all transcend this earthly(solid)realm of existence into a heavenly realm. Death does not ever actually occur, the spirit transcends death and moves to a different address than it had while living within a human body.
Death becomes a choice for those who hear "The Good News" of salvation through Christ and they choose to harden their hearts and minds against something so simple that leads to life. Once the path toward death is chosen, then a person fears and does all he/she can to avoid death. Unfortunately, death is inevitable for those who do not choose life. One can repent, and turn back toward life, because Papa God always has His arms open wide.
Confusion does enter into people who have difficulty understanding the death of the body and the death of the spirit. The death of the spirit can occur when people reject the life offered by Christ Jesus. People embrace thoughts of death, suicide, depression. Those who choose death often try to touch the lives of others with death through drugs, alcohol, conflict, even witchcraft. All these are fear tactics of the enemy that bring death into the forefront of people's lives.
Many people place faith in things other than God. When people have faith in money, home, family, spouse, jobs, cars, etc. then death is certainly part of their choices. All of these things have an end, will fail, and therefore die, so to speak. When those "things" fail, death does occur, or the person believing in them feels as though they have died or want to die. The actual object of faith will leave them. This is the opposite with faith in God and Jesus. Father will never leave you nor forsake you.
The believer who is skilled in the words of righteousness know that no matter what amount of death and destruction attempts to snag them in mind or emotions, Jesus is the answer to life. For those who choose to transcend death with Jesus by faith, death cannot touch the believer. Fear of death is not possible. God Himself is our life and death can no longer touch us. The only logical conclusion seems to be the only choice: LIFE
