The truth and nothing but the truth. No cue cards, no speeches written by writers, no lies, no badmouthing your opponent, no time to think before you speak. Answer the questions about you, your character, your morals or lack thereof, your past life, your family, who you are, want to become and how you (the wealthy) are going to help us. We know you're not perfect and would love to know that our leaders can admit mistakes- not deny them with their last breadth. That is all the American public needs to make wise decisions. We simply need to see who you are in your words. We don't think that can happen if everything is planned and rehearsed. We are tired of the ads on television that tell everything horrible about the other guy (mostly twisting words and lying to do so) and nothing worthwhile from the person saying " I approve this message" . Honestly, those of us with even minimal intelligence don't believe a damn word of any of it any way.

They could learn a lesson from those of us with what is considered "attitude" because we tell the truth instead of what everyone wants to hear. Sometimes it hurts but that shouldn't be what matters in the end. Unfortunately this is the concept that runs businesses all over this country. Tiptoeing around issues instead of speaking up and telling it like it is should be a crime punishable by law. Things would get done faster and more efficiently if this worthless step could be skipped. If you have something to hide or are afraid of your own words then obviously that is an issue. Again, we know that the candidates are imperfect. We want you to get up on a podium and take questions so we can decide for ourselves whether those weaknesses and strengths are necessary/appropriate for our leaders.

If I ask my child if he stole that gum and he has to think about it or wait for a writer to answer for him that is definitely an issue. If your husband/wife has to think about where they were after work and can't answer without thinking about it - it's an issue. Why should we expect any less from the people who are spending our money - quite foolishly at times I might add - and are in control of how profitable, happy and complete our lives will become.

We will trust someone who stands before us and answers questions without talking in circles. Just get to the point and tell us what you have to say, what you would like to see happen, if it is at all possible, and why you want it to be so. We will love you and appreciate the boldness that brought you to the center of the earth where we all should be living together.

Not all of us have billions of dollars to waste on projects for our friends, thousands of dollars for an outfit or a hair cut. We would like to send our kids to expensive schools and live a day without worrying about how we will pay the bills. We have enough on our plates. Tell us the truth and we will all profit from your honesty.
