Understanding the concept of reality
I believe that I am living in a reality. Even with wishful thinking my laundry was real this morning, and did not suddenly disappear, and it is now washing in a real metal washing machine. I still find that I must clean my house even though I would like to dream a maid into existence to clean for me. I live in the reality of the flesh, in a real world.
There is however another reality and that is spiritual. Many see themselves as a body only but we are spirit beings living in bodies. We need a body to exist here on earth just as going to the moon requires a special suit in order to walk on the moon. However, it is not the suit that is the man; it is what is in the suit that is the real person. This is why when I had an out of body experience I was still myself and I was not even aware that I was minus a body.
When I was young and dating, a college student asked me what my philosophy of life was. I did not even know what the word meant. I was determined that If I was ever asked that question again I would be able to give an answer.
I tried reading philosophy books and found them so intellectual that I did not understand what I was reading. Are we living in a dream state? Is life all an illusion? Which is reality; is it when I am awake or when I am asleep and dreaming. Am I really sleeping when I seem to be awake? I did realize one thing however. Their philosophies were only their opinions and not necessarily right. So with that being the case, I could come up with my own philosophy which although I do not agree with Plato or other brilliant minds, I can be just as right in my thinking as they as in the end it is only differences of opinions.
I found the Holy Bible much easier to understand. Simply put, God made Adam. He formed him out of the dust of the earth. He made a body.
The body was lifeless until God breathed into him the breath of life and he came alive. Now the man is body and spirit. God would control, or lead man through the spirit that was connected to Himself.
When man sinned he became separated from God. Spiritually cut off and now instead of being led by the spirit he is controlled by the lust of his flesh.
Those who seek God will find Him and they are reconnected once again to God and spiritually alive. This is called being born again. They can now understand spiritual things as they have direct contact with the spiritual world.
Those who are not reconnected only understand the flesh and spiritual things are foolishness to him.
What is my concept of reality? I live in the reality of the flesh and also in the reality of the spirit. They are both real.
