I personally think that men's and women's soccer is pretty much the same...I know that men's soccer is more known and watched by the fans, but women's soccer isn't neglected...Every week i go to the women's soccer games,it's 15 minutes walk for me,but it's great to see some home soccer.
And yea,it would be great if women's soccer became known as men's soccer,i bet many of us would watch it on TV as much as we watch it at home. Some of the readers of this article will say that nobody watches women's soccer, but that is just not true.I see thousands of people in the finals of women's soccer league in my town, and i can bet there are more people at women's soccer games in some bigger cities...
They are both fun to watch, neither more, neither less.I don't say that it's entirely fair that men's soccer is more known, but it doesn't matter because soccer is soccer and like i said, both are fun to watch.
Soccer is a world wide fenomenon and it should be enjoyed by both:men and women.I don't see why women shouldn't play soccer,or any other sport,i mean they are human to!And yea i know that this sounds like some feminist talking but no,i saw many examples where women's soccer was insulted and neglected. One time women's game should be played, but it was snowing(hard),so the game was cancelled. But their coach didn't have problem with that, neither did they. After that coach of one team went to court to ban women's soccer while it is snowing, because they can and i quote:"Get sick, and die."Of course that wasn't accepted,so he dropped training women, and switch training kids instead. It was on the cover of the paper(but not the main title),and i think that many of us reading said that it was better that some other coach trained them,no matter who. That team is now in the first league and kicking...well you know.
We are a small country, but we are big fans of soccer and when the world cup comes, almost 70 % of my nation is watching soccer every day.On the other hand when the finals of the women's league come, almost 50 % of our town goes to see it.I know that 50% isn't much in the eyes of some people, but think about it,it's women's soccer, and half of the town is watching it.I can't say it's so neglected so much, and i think that women's games are pinning us to the stools, just like the men's soccer.
In the end i would like to say that i personally am a big fan of soccer(men's and women's),but that doesn't mean that other people like soccer too.So don't "attack" a guy who insults soccer,or your team.If you are a true fan,you don't care what other people say.
