On Vacation With The Family Pet
Remember that when on vacation, anything can go wrong...so, be prepared. When I go on away and we are taking a family vacation, I don't like leaving my dog behind, they are members of the family too! As long as your prepared, you and your pet can have a very enjoyable vacation, just don't forget these essential dog travel supplies:
1.) Always have a pet travel kennel or pet travel bag. You can use either one in the car and when you reach your destination you can just leave the door open to it and it doubles as a bed for your pet giving them a comfortable and familiar place to be.
2.) Create a pet 'first-aid' kit. Put a pet brush, shampoo, any medications your pet might need, a leash, treats, toys, and anything you can think of inside. I put all of my dogs needs into a small bag with a strap so that I can attach it to the pet travel kennel and that way I never lose it!
3.) Have a blanket for the bottom of the pet travel kennel or pet travel bag, that way they can just snuggle up and relax.
4.)Don't forget the food along with food and water dishes. I prefer to bring a water bottle that I can snap onto the door of the pet travel kennel. Knowing the dog has water right there with him is one less thing I have to constantly worry about.
5.)Find a veternarian before you leave! Go on the internet and search for vets in the location you're going. Write the number down and place it in your pet 'first-aid' kit, its always good to be prepared.
You want to make your pet feel good, make sure that the pet travel kennel or pet travel bag is the right fit and style for them. Consider height, weight, and length of your pet when you make your purchase. Also, make sure you like it too and that it fits your needs as well. Pet travel kennels and pet travel bags are an important pet travel supply to own in general as well. You can find use for them in many ways.
When you take your pet with you on vacation, remember to have fun! Remember your pet travel supplies and you'll be fine and worry less, I know I do!
