Middle East conflict?
Lets go back a few years prior to the founding of the Islamic nations. The Kurds have been fighting for independence for over 2100 years. For the first time in recorded history the Kurds now have a chance for an independent State. Outside governments and inside political expedience has forced the Kurdish hierarchy to capitulate any chance of an independent State; for a share of oil revenues.
Getting back to the present, there are several noteworthy issues and events that should be mentioned. Libyan leader Col. Mommar Qaddafi was informed that his name is on the list, right after Saddam Hussein. With this being the case; Col. Qaddafi turned over all of his weapons of mass destruction over to the Western Allies. One would think that this would be a good thing. It was a very good move for the Libyan leader. By folding to Western Governments demands, he now is now no longer a threat to strike out against any other nation. On the other hand, Col. Qaddafi can export all of the trained terrorists to any location he desires. This is called expelling the terrorists. He is still more than capable of writing a check to further destabilize any region he deems expedient.
Lebanon is in shambles again. Twenty years of war, a few years of peace; and their right back at it. Jordan tries to be the peacemaker only because they would be in dire straights if the Girl Scouts invaded. Syria is the big question mark. They seem to be progressive on the information front, but their true intentions have Secretary Rice bamboozled. Saudi Arabia professes to be on the side of truth and justice. Its outrageous to believe that the Saudis' are anything but hungry for the American oil dollar. Without western oil money, the Saudis' would be running around with swords in hand; cutting off every head of any infidel they could find. In Afghanistan we were successful in bring down the Taliban regime. Now the Warlords are back in control and they have nearly tripled the production of opium. Pakistan is the real wild card in the whole scenario. With Pakistan's' impotent government; the threat of coop is impending, if not probable. The Taliban has now focused its efforts on taking over Pakistan; and its nuclear capabilities. As for Iraq, just turn on CNN or ABC for the latest update.
Iran has to be mentioned. The government has all but put out a press release about how they want to eliminate Israel, and possibly change the geography in the area. What is Israel to do? The answer is so obvious. I can't believe it has not been in the headlines of every newspaper in the world. Israel has to strike Iran and negate any possibility of a nuclear attack upon their homeland. With the news that the U.S. is going to beef up its forces in Iraq, this only pushes forward the date of the onslaught of Israeli fighters taking off. Then again, maybe they will simply push the button on their ICBM's.
The solution to the Middle East conflict is not to be found with waring factions and troops. The solution to the conflict will not be found by inept politicians or diplomats. The solution can only be had by the Clerics of the Muslim nations. Bottom line: the conflict has been religious from the get go!
