Doomed
All around me are broken pieces.
Tears well up in my eyes.
There's no hope for me now,
I know I'm going to die.
I didn't mean to break the vase,
it was an accident, you see?
But mommy is still going to be mad,
and will probably decide to kill me.
I think I'm a little too young
to die yet (I'm only seven).
I don't know if breaking mommy's vase
will keep me from going to Heaven.
I should maybe try to brush
the pieces under daddy's chair,
she doesn't clean there often
and she wouldn't know it's there.
I turn around and head to the closet
to get the dustpan and broom,
only to find mommy standing behind me.
Now I know I'm doomed.
