There are all kinds of fun things to do in Orlando. Orlando is the world's theme-park capital. Once an undisturbed area which depended on agricuture, the town started bustling when the space program opened at Cape Canaveral in the 1960's. And then Disney World opened in 1971.

At the theme park Universal Studios actors playing well-known movie and television figures (Flintstones, Spiderman) greet you in the Front Lot. The rides are based on movies, such as Twister, Shrek 4D, AND Jurassic Park. For young children there is Seuss Landing- an island built on the ideas in the children's book. The adults will enjoy the clubs, restaurants, and stores in Universal City Walk.

Universal Studios is located at 6000 Universal Boulevard. Phone number is 407363-8000. On the web go to universalorlando.com.

One famous Orlando attraction is Sea World- a marine park which is an educational experience as well as fun. There are daily shows featuring dolphins and whales. Shark Encounter is the world's largest aquarium of dangerous creatures like eels, barracuda, and sharks. You can pet and feed dolphins, sea lions, and manatees at Key West at Sea World.

Sea World is at 7007 Sea World Drive. 407351-3600. Seaworld.com.

Wet'n Wild is a water park with tall waterslides and exciting rides. There are milder rides for the younger children.

Wet'n Wild is on International Drive#6200. Phone number407351-1800. wetnwildorlando.com.

Another experience you may want to include in your Orlando vacation is Ripley's Believe It Or Not. This is an "odditorium" of assorted unusual and strange items. The building is built to look like it is sinking into the ground. Yhere is a gift shop offering interesting souveniers.

Ripley's is on International Drive #8201. Phone 407363-4418. ripleysorlando.com.

One unique Orlando attraction is the Holy Land Experience. This is a biblical history museum which authentically recreates the city of Jerusalem. Stories from the Old and New Testaments are performed by actors. The Holy Land Experience is home to rare bibles and biblical manuscripts.

You can reach the Holy Land Experience at 4655 Vineland Road. 407367-2065. www.holylandorlando.net.

A peaceful Orlando vacation alternative may be found at Discovery Cove. Located just across the road from Sea World, this is a tropical paradise of white beaches, waterfalls, and lush greenery. It is relaxing and serene. You can swim for thirty minutes with dolphins at Discovery Cove.

Discovery Cove is at 6000 Discovery Cove Way. Phone 407370-1280. www.discoverycove.com.
