Staring in the mirror
pondering what I see
A woman with much potential
imprisoned by her fears
Comfort becomes overbearing
Destiny keeps screaming
Why am I here?
How much more must be prove
Caution keeps on binding me
as failure comes near
taunting me with false prophecy
while reminding me of the past

Others say, "You wrote me
I catch glimpses of you...
Through windows boarded and shuttered
In your fear and misery
I hear your voice echo
Down
What is lost, what is gained
As our years now near the end?
Plan for tomorrow, not beyond
No future 'round the bend
