Political bias in the media today

by Thomas Knepper

Created on: October 24, 2008

Liberal Media dominates television. NBC, ABC, CNN, and you name it are all on board the Obama band wagon. It is a ridiculous claim to even think that the media is not biased. I have heard many people say, and I agree with it, that this election season has spelled the doom of non-partisan media. We have turned so much towards a propaganda machine, not all that much different from Stalins Russia, that people are blinded. Unless you watch Fox News or listen to talk radio you will never get both sides of any argument. You will only hear the liberal, flowery speech that has lulled so much of my beloved country into a false sense of security. It is dangerous to have the media be political, and if the Democrats do win the presidency, a sixty seat majority in the senate, and the overwhelming majority in the house, which they are predicting, it will be the end of America as we know it because no one will hold them accountable.

The media this election cycle is overwhelmingly in Obamas corner (with the exception of Fox and talk radio). They largely ignore the ties to Ayers, Rezko, and Acorn. They fluff of Obama's speeches and ignore the ugly truth that Obama will instate Socialism in America. There is people like Chris Matthews who comment that Obama's speech sent a chill up his leg. And you get people like Keith Olbermann anchoring political coverage for NBC news. He and Matthews got to the point that Tom Brokaw had to ask NBC news to stop using them as political anchors because they were so biased.

Aside from shielding Obama from any tough questions and real media coverage, the Obama supporting media has also aggressively gone after the Republican party. They hammered Palin for not having enough experience. I wonder if anybody actually noted that Palin is not running for president, McCain is, and with that aside, Palin still has more experience then Obama who is running for president. Think about that one for a minute.

The media brought up the Keating five which McCain was exonerated for many years ago. But fail to mention that Obama was still hanging out with Ayers up to a couple years ago. He was still close friends with Ayers in 2001 when Ayers said "guilty as hell, free as a bird, what a great country," while stomping on the American flag. They were still friends then. But no, the Media would never bring up something that could hurt Obama, that would just be too responsible.

The Time's hired a photographer who purposefully took bad pictures of McCain to make him look
