Comparing a Hollywood paycheck to a real-life paycheck is almost impossible. The main point here is that there is no comparison. Celebrities and athletes live in a different world than common people. We work so hard to have the things we have in life, and most celebrities are given so much just so they are seen using a product so normal people spend the little money from their paycheck on it.
A celebrity making millions of dollars a year just seems disgusting anymore. With the economy in the state that it is in right now, and we are able to pay professional athletes millions of dollars a year to only play half the year if even that. Movie stars, and musicians are even worse in my eyes seeing that they can make millions overnight, and not have to work for a few years if they plan properly. Being apart of a typical middle class family every penny counts. I have a four year old daughter than has been making a Christmas list since July, and no matter what my husband and I always find a way to get most of what she asks for. If I had a Hollywood paycheck, I would probably buy her what was on her list, plus all of the accessories that go along with them.
Watching celebrity programs that give personal tours of their homes and vehicles is almost becoming a slap in the face anymore. I am not intrested to see all of the things I will most likey never be able to afford on a real-life paycheck! Looking at the several cars that most of these celebrities are driving, makes me a little depressed looking at the antuque of a vehilce that is currently sitting in my driveway. It used to be entertaining to hear how the rich and famous spend their money, but after a few years of it, they are showing people that I have no idea whom they are. So they get their fifteen minutes of fame, which usually just adds to their welath, while I am paying the overpriced cable bill to watch the program in the first place.
Comparing a Hollywood paycheck to a real-life paycheck is actually kind of infuriating! Just thinking about them talk about how they are hurting like the rest of America is a joke. I am sure they are feeling the crunch during these tough financial times, but I am sure it is nothing compared to the strain we are feeling on our real-life paychecks. My husband works extremely hard to get our family all that we need. We may not have the best, but most of what is needed is received some how. Maybe one day some of us commoners will actually have the pleasure of seeing half of a Hollywood paycheck. I would enjoy every moment of spending that money guilt free! During these trying times we need to remember what is most important in our lives. Money always comes and goes, but it's our family that will truly make us rich in the long run.
