We are.
We just are.
We live. Eat. Breathe. Sleep.
Life is unfettered when we know not its extremes.
Soon enough our lives begin to expand
outward inward
upward downward
to the unfamiliar fray.
Many things
feel good.
Many things
do not.
Once we begin to feel
we can never
know
what it's like to be numb.
We are forced to reconcile
things that we can
never
understand.
Intense
joy.
Intense
sorrow.
We live our lives
in the cracks between
love and loss
and just...are.

on a plane or train
Say goodbye to me
in my car
I leave
