Marriage is the oldest institution ordained by God for procreation, companionship and for mutual benefit of both partner.
It is the union of both man and woman, not man and man, or woman-to-woman!
One of the rare privilege of marriage, is sex.
Sex in marriage is so vital, because it has some physical and physiological advantage, for men and women.
It has a lot of benefit.
It is a known fact, that during orgasm, the oxytocin which is linked with a range of physical and psychological benefits is produced, which is very beneficial.
One of such benefits is its impact on sleep.
Oxytocin is also useful in fighting insomnia because it aids the release of endorphins, which alleviate pains from headache, arthritis and migraine.
Couples who have regular sex (once or twice a week) produce an antibody called Immunoglobin A, which helps boost the body immune system.
Like regular exercise, sex also helps body blood circulation.
Helps lower blood pressure and lower the body stress level.
Sex helps improve cholesterol level and aids the burning of more than 200 calories in the body, which is equivalent to 10 minutes of constant jogging on the road.
Sex also boost's the production of testosterone which leads to stronger bones and muscles.
The muscular contraction couples experience during sex, work on the pelvis, thighs, buttocks, arms, neck and thorax.
Sex has a huge benefit of reducing stress, no wonder some Football Association allow players to carry their wife or partners with them to the FIFA world cup or to major Football tournament.
Though it has not being proved, sex is believed to have reducing effect in the risk of prostrate cancer in men through the release of sperm during intercourse.
Research also suggests that regular sexual activity may help women avoid breast cancer.
Studies carried out revealed that the mortality risk was 50% lower among men who had frequent orgasms. The study also discovered that frequent sexual intercourse produced lower incidence of stroke
Sex helps to foster stronger bond between both partners, and ultimately leads to a longer lifespan.
It is not however clear, whether women benefits more from sex than men.
What is clear however, like Billy Crystal said is; "Women need to have a reason to have sex. Men just need a place"
Marriage is to be enjoyed and not endured, and one of the ways to enjoy marriage is "making love" while the body is still able and willing before the law of nature comes calling.
