If you come to a good hotel, you do not have to worry for things like security, food, health and language, since hotels will provide everything for you. But if you will stay in a hostel or other alternative places, such things will be under your care. However, youth hostels have the virtue of putting you in a nearest touch with the culture and traditions around, besides keeping the economy of your pocket. Here some tips to enjoy your tour in any place while you stay in a hostel.

When you plan your travel with time, look for recommended sites given by other travelers. You can find plenty of experiences on the net, including the possibility to relate with those who have been there before you. Forums, Chats and other channels are available. But it is possible that you will come to cities and regions in a kind of adventure experience of knowing new things. In that case, do not book in the first hostel you find when just arriving. Take your time and try to locate yourself in the town before any decision. Asking advance from other foreign visitors is better than asking to locals in, for example, developing countries, at least you ask to people invested with a visible authority - police officials, tourist agencies - or to people you have already a kind of trust and friendship. This one is because in many countries aliens are seem by the local population as a "sort of easy money."

Before booking, ask to see the rooms. That is helpful in the moment to decide if you stay in the place or not. If you just do not like it, follow your instints and look elsewhere.

Take your time in the night to prevent the coming of other small guests with you: insects. Especially in tropical lands they could be just dangerous for your health. Care from excess in alcohol consumption, something that can be common in a package travel, especially if you are alone. Bring with you some preventive medicine like anti-diarrhoeal and pain killers, among others you consider necessary. Keep dringking water in your room, especially in regions with poor hygienic. If you get eventual sex with new partners, be estrict in protect yourself. A good rule: make your partner take a bath before anything.

Finally, help other travelers in giving recommendations and advances of the places you visited.
