Jagged memories jostle for attention,
Protective forces hold them in detention.
Eternal peace-masquerades must persist.
Inside the pounding of a clenched fist.
Happy days of heightened cheer,
Cocktail churns in different sphere.
Twisting silently with outward smile,
Sweetened days start to taste like bile.
Journal and pen, photo snaps in mind,
A synapse ... then a treasure-find.
Little lost girl shares her fears
Hug her now and shed her tears.
