Poetry: Catharsis

DARK PEN CATHARSIS

Oft' times I write with darkened pen

From which no sunshine flows

Its ink is anger's venom

Or disappointment's woes

I possess pens

That could paint rainbows

And joyful happy scenes

They tell of satisfaction

And fulfilled hopes and dreams

So when you read my darkened lines

Don't think this all I am

Most times I'm filled with laughter

And am happy as a clam

(apparently they are very happy creatures)

Its just that when I need Iit most

That dark pen's there for me

To pour out all my heartache

Anguish and misery

And after it has done its work

I lay it down to rest

And write with hues much brighter

About the things I like the best

I do find it true howeverThat my dark pen strikes a cord

And that fact and feeling resonate

All across the board

For we are not much different

When it comes right to the heart

And there is always comfort

To find we're not alone

When waves of sorrow hit us

And chill us to the bone

So, dark as this pen may be at times

It blows away the storm

That other pens may follow

Bringing sunshine

To make us warm
