How to save money on video games

by Jillian Cooper

Created on: October 24, 2008

Video games today have become a must have in every home. With that being said ,in todays economy they are just so expensive when you think about. I have found though, the best way to appease my children,as well as my own appetite, without forking out hundreds of dollars that I really do not have.Is to shop at Game Stop. Where I might only be able to afford a few games at retail price.

I find spending my dough at Game Stop, gives me the ablity to just about get any game I want at a more reasonable price.I have to say one of the reason their prices or so good is due to the simple fact , they sell and except used games. It's a wonderful circle, buy a used game play it, beat it,then return it. [you do not not get the full price you paid for it] But you do get cold hard cash and even store credit towards another game ,which ever one fills you itch for the moment.

Me I have no problem playing a used game .And considering that Game Stop is a reputable company, they do not sale used games that do not work. And if by chance one does hit the shelf and you happen to buy it. They give you seven days to return it with no hassle. Do not get me wrong they also sell new games as well. But instead of spending $60.00 On a new game ,I might spend $25.00 bucks on the same game the only difference is it's used. As well as they even have others that may cost me only $5.00 Now you do the math. I get more bang for my buck. Plus, I'm able to please myself and my children .While still having cash in my pocket, and a stock pile of games to play.

There is not one video game they do not have from the Sims series to Halo to anything and everything. But the only games the do not trade or PC video games. I must say they also sell used controllers even memory cards.Better yet you can even trade in an old game system console and receive money are store credit. My whole family loves this store. We buy are games 98% of the time from Game Stop.

A few other notes to know though , If you do not have a Game Stop near you. They are on-line go to Game Stop.com. As well as the prices are different of course for each game. Sometimes even a used game can be $40.00 bucks, these though are the ones that have just come out. And it also depends on how hot they are on the market still $60.00 new vices $40.00 used. Seems a much better deal to me. Hum ,you have a bit more money for gas then, don't ya. Or even just some extra moey to put away for a rainy day.
