Just Because...

Just because I had to leave
Doesn't mean I cannot hear
Your cries of pain and loneliness
Thinking I'm not near...

Just because you cannot see
The smile upon my face
Doesn't have to mean I'm in
Some distant, far off place.

Just because you think I'm
Out of sight or out of mind
Doesn't mean I left you
Or our life we had behind.

Just because I couldn't take you

With me where I'm at
Doesn't mean I'm out of reach
You must remember that!

Just because I see the tears
You're crying every day
I know how much you miss me
In that very special way.

Just because I love you and
I know your heart is broken,
You're feeling lost and all alone,
I hear your thoughts unspoken.

When the time has come
And it will, your heart will mend
Through the peace and understanding
Which the Lord, my God will send

To lift you from the shadows
Of the sorrow you're now in,
That's when you will be ready
For your new life to begin.

The one that you will enter,
The one without me there,
The one that you will journey,
The one I cannot share.

You're STRONGER than you realize,
I believe in who you are,
I know you will SUCCEED at this
As I've seen you do before.

With all the other things we've faced
Together, you and I,
You were the one I counted on
In all our years gone by.

You spent a lifetime loving me,
Did everything you could,
If there had been some way for me
To stay, you know I would.

Remember this will only be
For just a time, you'll see
One day before you know it
Once again, you'll be with me.

Until that day, you must go on
And do what you must do,
I know you can, I know you will
For I have faith in you!
