I wonder how often we take the time to appreciate God's work in the world around us. During the course of fifty years on this planet, there have been times when it seemed as if God wasn't listening to me, and what I have learned during this lifespan is that often we look at life from the wrong perspective. This article is written to help give hope to those seeking to recognize God's work when drowning under a sea of troubles, and to use this to create hope within their lives.
God created the heaven and the earth, the animals and the people that roam this planet, though he did much more than that. What he gave human beings was the ability to choose and to have individual lives and values within those lives. In many ways God's work is an ongoing work in progress, and all we need to do to recognize how that applies to our lives is to observe rather than just looking at the surface.

Weather and Seasons, Night and Day.
We take for granted that the weather is something which happens wherever we are based in the world. It is a known phenomena that those who are deprived of sunshine can become depressed. By recognizing the good of all seasons, we can actually appreciate them more. For example in climates where the weather is always the same, how can one know about the beauty of a garden that comes to life after a rainfall? How can one appreciate the white blanket of cover which appears on hilltops in the winter? The seasons within our lives are very similar and offer different wealth, strengths and weaknesses, and by combining these to see a whole picture, the wonder of God becomes very clear indeed.
Night and day are similar. How many times do you lie in the dark of the night afraid and alone and talk to God? Talking to God when you are afraid is natural, though associating talking to God with fear is perhaps what stops you enjoying his creation. Look out of a window and see how close those stars are. Look at the changing of the moon and the wonder of a sunset, and you cannot help but feel humbled. When day approaches, use this as time to give thanks. Hear the birds in the morning, and see that first light appear and illuminate all the world around you, and this is a great time not only to recognize but to talk to God, as it is his work which produced all these wondrous elements.
