Ways the Internet is annoying

The internet is a wonderful tool; one that saves researchers a great deal of time and money. With the internet the world has indeed become smaller and a global village. However, there are those who view this magnificent piece of technology as a way to exploit others with scams and fraud. One of the most notable are the emails that come from Nigeria trying to get into bank accounts with the ploy of depositing money into those bank accounts. As if a postal mailbox full of junk mail isn't bad enough then there is the email box which is being filled with junk commonly called spam. There are days it seems that more time is spent eradicating this plethora of nonsense than actually doing something constructive with the computer. And there are those unscrupulous souls who have nothing better to do than create spyware, viruses, and other harmful elements to computers. Some of these elements even steal things from other computers like personal information and passwords. Having to load and run a variety of pieces of defensive software which can also help in slowing down the speed of the computer's operations and may take up valuable space needed for work related files and software.

Advertisers and people looking to hawk their wares and services on the internet have seen fit to inundate every page with numerous ads that do everything from flash to portraying full blown animations. Besides being very annoying the flashing ads can be a health hazard. Anything that flashes at certain intervals can trigger seizures in people who have epilepsy. These animating ads that are designed to be cute and attract a consumer's attention are an annoyance that slow down page loading speeds and even the computer itself. While there are internet service providers who offer faster downloading speeds for browser pages, it still seems to take forever at times for pages to load. And not everyone can afford the higher priced fast loading pages. Some of these ads have gotten to be as bad as those seen on the television with shouting audio and no way to turn it off or if there is then it takes longer than the ad to find the volume control.

And then there are the webpage designers who fail to take ino account that not everone can see small print and so they create pages using programs that cannot be enlarged in order to read them. While this may not seem like a problem to the average person, people with visual disabilities find it extremely annoying and inconsiderate. And those ads and money making schemes with audio are a big problem for people who use speech recognition software since they interfere with the narrator's speech.

As the internet has grown in popularity it has also attracted problems and unscrupulous individuals who have no problem with stirring up trouble.
