Poetry: Finding love

by Joshua Mackle

Created on: October 21, 2008

Signs

Follow the clues
And see where they lead
First to my mind
Where you've planted the seed

A mark on my body
I imagined you there
Claws on my skin
Exposed and bare

Tears on my bedclothes
The frustration of thinking
Toxic in my blood
The poison I'm drinking

Words on my tongue
That I'm dying to speak
But choking on my thoughts
Fear kills the weak

The path of love
Is no yellow brick road
No fantasies here
No dream to behold
