Coloring your hair at home is not that easy to do,When buying the Hair color think of the Three Questions.
1.What Shade? its your decision.
When Choosing a Shade either you want to go natural to fit your natural hair, Or you want to go Wild and experiment with a new color, or maybe you just want to add some highlights to your hair. These Options are open for you to choose from.
When Choosing your shade make sure you think about your eye color and the Color of your skin.
Always remember (Women in General) that when changing your hair color you are also going to need to change the color of your eyebrows and maybe even your makeup
So if you are a blonde and you want to go brown then you will probably have to get a eyebrow pencil a shade darker than what you just colored your hair.
2.Permanent Or not Permanent?
OK With permanent hair color It is Likely to buy a Product with ammonia in it Since That is a chemical needed to balance hair color, But there are Products that do not include ammonia and are still permanent, so always Check the Label of the box some say it right on the front but some don't so look for ammonia in the product!
Ammonia Can sometimes dry out or kill hair cells especially if your hair is not very strong to stand a chemical.
Non-permanent Hair color is a great way to test out a new look since you just have to dye and then If you do not like the color for whatever reason typically it will wash out with in 28 shampoos!
3.The Quality? "Is The Coloring product going to hurt my hair?"
I wouldn't suggest going to the dollar store and getting a hair dye! If you go to your Local Wal-mart or Target then this is where you find a variety of different brands of coloring products at cheap pricing but good quality!
If you want to work with the hair coloring products that the professionals use then I would Suggest going to a Sally Beauty Supply or any popular beauty supply store and getting your color there, but may I warn you that it may be more expensive.
Before you color your hair Make sure you take the Test, the test is in the directions Located in your box,Take a few strands of hair and Color them then wait, When it turns the right color it gives you three results, The test tells you:
1.how long to leave the color in.
2. what shade your hair is going to turn.
3. you can see if it damaged the hair strands.
If all is OK Then most Likely you are good to start the Coloring process, Everything will be fine If you follow directions accordingly
and protect yourself from skin irritation by rubbing Vaseline around the hair line and using dark towels to protect surfaces.
Thank you.
