Positive thinking is more than just an exercise used to get you out of a sticky situation. It's a way of life, a state of Being.
One of the reasons the law of attraction gets a bad rap is people don't understand this basic concept. You can't believe deep down that life is hard, a struggle that must be overcome and say a few nice affirmations a few times a day to counter the affect of what you truly believe about life.
Most people are pretty much set by the age of 4-6 on their outlook about life. Parents, teachers and other well meaning people share their own takes on how life is. Such teachings as work hard and you might succeed, life is hard, some just don't get the breaks or have the luck, and many others are at the core of most people's belief system.
When The Secret came out people flocked in groves to buy the video and the book. Lots of people got it and many others didn't. The nay sayers are those who don't understand that the law of attraction always works, every time, all the time. You have always used it and worked with it, without awareness that each thought combined with passion created the next experience for you.
When you don't take the time to root around in your foundation of beliefs and change those to be in line with what you want, you of course feel frustrated when life continues as it always has.
Start by writing down a few basic thoughts about core life issues.
Money is
people with money are
rich people
luck is
My body
My family
people always
people never
These will get you started towards understanding your core beliefs, those that you are building your life experience on.
By identifying these and choosing to shift them, you then bring in the positive affirmations to help you change your attitudes towards life.
For instance if you say "money is the root of all evil", shift it to something more in line with your new desires.
Money is the exchange medium for bringing comfort and ease into my life. Money is energy used to allow comfort and adventure.
Continue with each of your core beliefs, shifting slowly and believably so they can be assimilated into your subconscious.
Some positive affirmations to get you started are; I choose to be happy, therefore I am. Life is as good as I say it is and I say it's really good.
Money is energy that allows comfort and ease of life, I am grateful for money in my life.
My body is strong and powerful allowing me to experience the joy of being human.
People treat me with love and respect as I treat others with love and respect.
Continue to be aware of your thoughts and when they move out of the positive vibration, choose to shift them back with an affirmation that feels comfortable and good to you.
Through practice you will reprogram you inner belief system and being positive will be a natural occurrence as it was originally designed to be.
