film has a few musical numbers which really light up the film and get your feet tapping however much you try to resist! Amy Adams has a great singing voice and her first up-tempo number, Happy Working Song, showcases her lovely voice and is perfect for these numbers. She also performs maginificently in That's How You know, a colourful all-singing, all-dancing number which is 100% pure Disney! The romantic song of the movie performed at a ball is entitled So Close and is performed by Jon McLaughlin, and the film's closing song is Ever Ever After by Carrie Underwood. A great soundtrack with some wonderful classical music throughout, and even a snippet of a Disney song from years ago, Under the Sea.
Enchanted really has a magical storyline as is expected of a Disney film. They have managed to include many elements within the film which will appeal to a broad range of viewers, from comedy to romance and even a bit of action/adventure too. The inclusion of both animation and real-life actors is wonderful and crosses both elements seamlessly. They have done a great job in making the cartoon Giselle as similar to Adams as possible, and her dresses used in the real film are like something out of a fairytale themselves - gorgeous classic girly dresses with flowing hair - a real life princess! It's classic good and evil storyline is fantastic, with obvious emphasis on light and happiness for the good, and dark lighting and symbolic music for the evil in the film. It's incredibly well done, and the ending scenes are magnificently done.
Enchanted is a film which leaves its viewers feeling just that. It captures the essence of a Disney movie, with fun, singing, dancing and of course, the token splash of love and happily ever after. It has a wonderful cast which bring the fairytale story to life, with Adams so believable as sweet-natured Giselle and Dempsey as cynic turned believer Robert. It's visuals throughout New York city mix the modern world with make believe perfectly, and Disney magic is weaved throughout with animation at the beginning and end, adding a real dash of magic to the mix. Oh, and you've gotta love the Chipmunk Pip, how cute! Overall, I thought this was a superbly touching movie, teaching children about love and happiness, and it even bought a tear to my eye! Disney back at its best.
