Cellular phone technology has reached incredible heights in only a few short years. In fact, most high-end cellphones are not even referred to as phones; they are considered to be personal and portable computer-enabled communication and organizational devices. As a result, these types of phones now fall under descriptive categories such as Smartphones, PDA's(personal digital assistant) and Pocket PC's.

The functional capabilities of these devices are actually comparable to to that of a desktop computer or laptop, with the only obvious differences being that of size, therefore resulting in a decrease in the amount of programming and memory capacity. The HTC S720 falls within the Smartphone and PDA category.

The physical appearance of this phone is unique in the aspect that it contains a slide-out, fully functional QWERTY keyboard. This is a very convenient component for those users who spend a significant amount of time sending and recieving text and e-mail messages, or typing notes and brief Word documents. This keyboard eliminates the annoying and time-consumong task of single-key multi-tapping or having to rely on a T9 function, of which neither or very efficient. Along with the sleekly engineered keyboard, S720 boasts a 2.5", 65k TFT high-resolution display. It houses a mini USB port which is used to connect the phones power cord and hands-free headset and to establish a connection with a Home PC or laptop for data syncronization and installation of application/software onto the phone. The phone itself is small(103.5L x 51W x 19.2 T mm), lightweight(120 grams), fits comfortably in hand and has a sturdy feel to it. There is a sliding side-volume adjustment key as well as a quick-access side button for instant operation of the 2.0 megapixel camera. Cosmetically, this phone is simple yet modern in appearance and is a solid, durable, unobtrusive device.

The external attraction of the HTC S720 provides just a glimpse of the actual beauty and capability of this device. The internal quality and functionality are indeed amazing.

The main attraction of this phone is the Windows Mobile 6 Operating System. Within the Windows OS are:

Internet Explorer Web Browser( complete access to the World Wide Web )
