Telemarketing: A comical view

to go on a date with me and they are over 400 miles away are very amusing, too. You can't sell them anything because they're too busy flirting with you. "So, lady, what color are your eyes?"

"They're not the same color as the product I'm selling, the product is _________." Trying to redirect them.

"Bet your hair is soft. Is it long?" Like I'm going on a date, with some guy I never met, and is 400 miles away. Like I won't get fired if the recorded conversation is listened to and I flirt with this guy.

But still, I get offers, "Come on down here, honey, I live in __________ State, I got a boat, you and I can have a beer, take pictures of the scenery and see what develops, if you know what I mean?" Some of them can say that all with one breathe, too. They should have my job.

So try to walk a mile in our shoes, you'll get blisters - on your ears - from the people that swear at you, but you have the satisfaction that if they drop dead after talking to you, they won't end up in heaven. Because they swore at you 'a blue streak,' and you are still "sirring and ma'aming" them. Heaven will be reserved for you, the poor selfless telemarketer. Who's getting poorer and about to loose his/her job for not selling anything today. Or any other day for that matter.
