Poem: "A Better Life, My Friend"
Well did I tell you enough
Through the years that I loved you?
Did I help you wipe some tears?
You deserved a better life, my friend.
And I still remember times
When we were younger
Formative years, side by side...
We had a better life, my friend.
And the pain of your loss I feel is so alive
As fresh as the day that they told me...
That you were gone
And I still ask myself "that" question "why did you die?"
And I wonder who is "Lord" and what is "Faith"
And I questioned all rules and cursed the Saints
And I couldn't be there for you...I was too late
So I trashed out all my Gods and dranks for days!
Then I woke up feeling thankful that you're free
Free...free from that damned disease
Now it was never enough
The words that I shared with you
Did I help refresh the mind...
About a better life, my friend
Awww, we were never wrong
When the trials of life offend
Was there a reason all along?
You deserved a better life my friend.
And I wondered who was "Lord" and what is "Faith?"
And I questioned all the rules and cursed the "Saints"
And I couldn't be there for you, I fell on your grave
Then I trashed out all my Gods and dranks for days
...Then I rose up, feeling so heavy...and walked away.
So I'll tell them all again, we had a better life my friend
MmmmmYeah, a much better life, my friend
And there's even a better life in the end.

Remember When?
Do you remember when everything was new?
I remember,
I remember perfectly.

This is where we'd meet,
On this baron parking lot,
We'd live,love, and cheat.

I remember the house where I was born
With its paint peeling off and its screens all torn.
