A Guide to Christmas Holiday
Decorating
We are our own worst enemy when it pertains to holiday decorating. We all want the "must haves" but what we truly want is for our home to look gorgeous while spending the least amount of money. As we flip through magazines we see the style and magnitude of the Christmas holiday decorating and while there are many fascinating ideas, economically, some of us cannot afford the luxury. You can have the same look within the magazine but with ordinary household items and greenery you find outdoors. In fact incorporating items from the fall and winter outdoor season will suffice even the most eager decorator. The possibilities are endless and most importantly cost-effective.
First and foremost, use your imagination coupled with magazine ideas you have come across. Second, choose a main theme such as "silver bells" or "gleaming gold." Third, decide on how to attain the items you would need for this undertaking. Some areas to look for these items are the attic or crawl space for example, old family photo albums, left over trim and buttons from sewing, lamp shades, and any object that can be converted into a holiday decoration.
Using holiday decorating as a catalyst for getting the best deal possible can happen in five ways.
While Christmas decorating use natural products such as pine cones, sea shells, flat slate rock, construction paper, any craft items to make your own Christmas ornaments.
Decide on a primary color such as red, green, silver, and gold. If the theme is one specific color, he or she can mix and match per ones taste.
Look to old fabrics that can be used to create a holiday theme or introduce a new vogue holiday explosion of originality. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Make your own candles with flair such as glitter, holiday colored buttons, gather fresh pine from your pine tree, and use conventional mistletoe to give a comfortable, sensual, smell within your home.
Use food products such as cranberries or pop corn to develop non-conventional tinsel, use a real tree so the tree can be shredded into important mulch, make your own lawn decorations and accent them with a colored holiday light.
Using these items can reduce electric bills, can be cost-effective, will bring natural beauty to your home, and give you a little extra money to spend on your loved ones.
