The little things in life culminate to create the true romance in relationships. A couple may go out on one very romantic escapade, roses, dancing, wine.... However, the romance in their life...the true romance...a state of being in which one feels loved by their mate and partner, cannot be maintained by an occasional event....neither can everyone afford (whether by means of money or time) to regularly or even daily, make these sort of large "romantic" efforts in order to display their love toward their mate.
A person feels loved when they notice an interest being taken in them personally. When their favorite things in life are noticed to be such by another. When their mate mentions things that they have spoken about, making it clear that not only were they being listened to by their significant other, but that their words were thought upon and considered.
When a lover thanks the other one for the sweet things that they do. When they thank the other one for even being willing to spend time with them, it makes it clear that they really appreciate and love that person. That they feel grateful to have them as a part of their life.
A mate may come home and a meal may be ready for them...not just any meal, but one that their partner knows them to especially enjoy. There may be candles lit, a very simple and inexpensive task, yet one that makes quite a difference to the environment and shows consideration was taken. Chores may be completed that were not even necessary for the other to complete.
A man may "tuck" his companion in to bed at night, making sure that she is warm and comfortable for her night's rest. A woman may notice that her lover's nails are getting a bit untidy and give him a personal manicure, rubbing the lotion gently into his skin. An exhausted mate may fall onto the sofa from a long day and find themselves with a cold drink in their hands, a bath run for them, a massage awaiting. All of these little things are so easy to accomplish, but they take effort and attention paid by the other person.
There are multitudes of romantic ways to show one's love, but the truly loving ways always boil down to small things done or said by one's partner that shows the other to regularly have the other one on their mind and that shows them who is truly important in their life.
