Do Ghosts really exist? There is much evidence and many arguments to justify both believers and non-believers of the paranormal. The world "paranormal" means, quite literally, "beyond normal". Many people feel that they will be frowned upon or considered "weird" should they choose to believe in something that is out of the ordinary. Many people, however, could learn a lot should they just open their minds to the possibility of the paranormal.
As children, we are all very frightened by the mere thought of "ghosts". This fear normally doesn't stem from personal experience for the most part, but from the "Hollywood" and "Campfire" ghost stories that we are subjected to. In response to our fears, our parents comfort us by telling us that "there is no such thing as ghosts". We've all heard this line many times! I'm sure that if you have children of your own, you have probably uttered this very statement to them a time or ten yourself. Unfortunately, this forms the foundation that ghosts are scary, otherwise why wouldn't someone just tell us that the portrayal of ghosts in cinema is merely exaggerated and glorified for the most part?
Personally, I feel that my character would suffer if I didn't believe in life after death. Many of my morals and values are based upon the fact that I will need to account for my every act when I pass on. I make better choices knowing that there will be a time when I have to recount the good, the bad and the ugly. Albert Einstein has proven that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but only changed. When someone dies, then, their personal energy would have to go somewhere, right? In knowing this, there is really no other option for me than to believe in life after death.
I was fortunate enough to be raised in a family where we were taught to embrace the fact that life goes on when a person passes away. I have drawn great strength from knowing that my loved ones are still near even when their physical bodies cease to exist. I speak to them and look to them for guidance all the time. They almost always answer me when I call on them. Sometimes a response will come in the shape of a dream...other times it is just a feeling that washes over me like a warm rain. Many times, if I just open my mind, my answers will come in the form of a song on the radio or on the pages of a book that "happens" to fall on the floor. No matter the delivery, my answer ALWAYS comes through quite clearly.
In my personal experience, I have experienced some levels
