I have sadly noticed that there are some people who refuse to call this country Zimbabwe.This is why we have such topics as locating Rhodesia. A writer who probably is very brilliant has continously vowed in her article that she will never call it Zimbabwe and she will never call Zimbabwe's capital Harare choosing that she would call it Salisbury.Maybe whats in a name ,one may ask.In this case plenty lies in a name .

Lest I digress,back to locating rhodesia.it will be difficult to locate Rhodesia without mentioning Zimbabwe because for all practical and honest intents there is no such place as Rhodesia in the world.It is a historical country that was in southern africa.To the east it shared a border with the former Portuguese colony of Mocambique.To Rhodesia's North was a country callled Zambia.To the west was Botswana and to the south was South Africa.Anyone who knows the African map will quickly notice that this is what is now called Zimbabwe.Why do people call it Rhodesia?

To be honest most people who would cry to call Zimbabwe , Rhodesia are unrepentent racists popularly known as Rhodies.These are people who lived in Zimbabwe when it was white ruled and racist and thrived on the down trodden black people of Zimbabwe.They have not at all found reason to move on choosing instead to live in a past that they view as glory days.Shameless people who have not been exposed for who and what they really were in those sad years.

They are quick to point that in those days they were the happiest Rhodesia days compared to the black ruled period.These are people who leave you wandering whether they see Zimbabwe as their country or their farm.These are people who are angry about Mugabe as they are angry about any other black Zimbabwean who they cant employ for a shilling anymore.They left a legacy of racist schools like Churghill high and St George's schools in Harare .Good schools but founded specifically for a white child.They had pavements reserved for the walking of white people.They even had signs barring black people from entering certain places yet they want to quickly say Rhodesia was not like south africa.Rhodies must be ashamed ,but then can they?

Rhodies are the same people who will insist Zimbabwe's capital is Salisbury named after Lord Salisbury of England. Granted Harare was once called Salisbury until the name was changed to its original name as a Shona/Zezuru village before settlers called it Salisbury.Why is there an obssession with calling places by given
