If you've always wanted to make video games, but don't know where to start, your not alone. I to wondered how I could make games at home. I found RPG maker 2003 is good if you have no prior knowledge of make games but would like to make your own RPG.

Graphics- The graphics a comparable to that of Final Fantasy 5 or other SNES game. If you have paint or any similar product with a little work you can make your own in game sprites, tile sets, monsters etc. But if you don't feel up to making your own graphics the program already comes with 100s of pre-made ones.

Sound- The program comes with tonnes of sound files, but with a file converter you can import your own.

Battle system- the program comes with three different battle systems, two are simply turn based and the other is a gauge.

Features- The game features many things such as a switch system, a variable system, about 80 pre-made items from potions to helmets, 100'sof pre-made spells, 18 pre-made classes, 16 pre-made characters, 5 tile sets, hundreds of pre-made animations, and much much more.

Cost- RPG maker 2003 can be downloaded for free from many websites just search for it on Google.

If you've always wanted to make your own 2D RPG but don't know where to begin then RPG maker 2003 is for you.

If you want to make a 2D MMORPG then don't worry there are many programs that you can download that you can use. One of the is Xtreme worlds. Xtreme worlds has lots of interesting features such as books, a quest system, and even the ability to input your own script for the game. While scripting isn't necessary for the game you can use it to input features that aren't already there such as fishing, mining, or even player housing the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. You need to host the server for the game so which really slows down your computer, so if you had an extra computer that you could run the server on it would work well. There are lots of music files already in the game, but others can easily be imported. You can set other players to be GMs, designers, or moderators so you can work on it with you friends. The program comes with tile sets and sprites, but if you want more they are easy to find, and the GFX converter can be used to resize them. Xtreme worlds can be downloaded from xtremeworlds.com.

Good luck with your games. There are many other ways to make games this link take you to lots of things that can help you. From music making software to many other game makers. Look around and you should be able to find a good one.
