Today there are many diets and diet pills that claim to be the cure for all your weight worries. We see the commercials and ads all the time in magazines take this pill or eat these foods and you are guaranteed to lose X amount of pounds in X amount of days, weeks, or months. Do these diets and diet aids really live up to the promises they make? Normally, they don't. Why? Because what that commercial didn't tell you is that you are still going to have to do things other than take that little miracle pill. Gasp! you mean....an exercise program as well as a diet?
Yes, I mean that you are still going to have to start an exercise program. There is no miracle cure. There is no way to cut out an exercise program if you want to see weight loss and look great. There is no way to see results without hard work and dedication. That dedication is not only to pop that little pill before or after each meal. You need to get off the couch and find an exercise plan that you enjoy so that it will work for you. If you enjoy walking take a walk each afternoon or actually use that treadmill over in the corner for at least 30 minutes. Yes, I know that is 30 minutes that you could be doing the dishes, helping the kid with the home work, or talking to your mother on the phone but if you want to really see weight loss results that stay with you make the time. If you don't walk, find a sport you enjoy, go out dancing, go to the gym, get a few exercise videos. The important thing is to find something that you will enjoy doing so that you will get up and do it at least 30 minutes a day. If you can't exercise every day at least do a bit of something each day and do your routine program every other day. Once you begin to lose weight you may want to add some weight training in to firm your muscles as you lose the fat. This should be done at least 3 times a week. If you days simply will not allow for 30 minutes exercise each day break your minutes into 3 sets of 10 minutes, 2 sets of 15 minutes, etc. The important thing is that you get the exercise. If you break it down into shorter sets you may not get the full effects that you would with a 30 minute workout due to heart rate and exertion levels.
You will also need to begin a healthy diet. Portion control is the new rage. Portion control seems to actually work. You simply eat less each time you eat and you eat more often. Nothing is out of reach not even your sinful little dessert. You should also consider taking a multivitamin. This will
