Have you ever thought that you were chosen by God, to run the most powerful country in the world? If so, even in today's modern society, you can be a dictator in the United States of America, yes, it's easy.

What you might need to start with, is a daddy who was President before you. That way you see, you will have his old cronies to help you get your foot in the door. Why, they will be too happy and eager to assist you, wanting more of the country's money in their pockets. They will help buy off every other politician you will need to rise tot he top; they will buy the nation's most powerful judges to decide the election in your favor in case there is a question as to who really won; they will help you start wars in other countries, on the premise of almost any excuse, in order to take control of their country and their country's oil wealth. They will also ensure your VP is a huge part of it, running the whole scheme for you as it were, passing laws quickly so that only the VP's former companies can fill the bids, and no other company can get a shot at making money. They will ensure secret bank accounts so that this enormous sum of money is never traced.

After you have your select cronies, you peruse the country's laws, changing them to fit your agenda, at will. After all, the highest court in the nation is bought and paid for. You also ensure your nest buddies have their way with the financial sector, draining every last drop of money from as many hapless citizens in the country as possible, yes; even if it means running the country into the ground. After all, when your eight years of plunder are done, it will be someone else's problem, not yours, and you will leave office a very wealthy man, even wealthier than your daddy.

You also make sure that your every word and action is above question, above every prescribed law, like royalty in the old days, but in a more despot-like manner, of course. You also give the go ahead for your country's alleged "enemies" to be held in a far off, hard to scrutinize place, and torture them, defending the use of waterboarding in the name of the country's safety from terrorists.

Use the word terrorist a lot, it frightens the masses and makes it much easier to get what you want. You already know the masses are easily led, easily fooled, and fair game. Should the day arise that the masses catch on to your programs of terror, sabotage, treason, and thievery, it is time to make an exit, but not before making sure you get every red cent you can, before the now almost destroyed country has a chance to impeach you for war crimes amongst others.

After all, these days, you have proved that yes, anyone can be president, but it takes a man who believes he was appointed by God Himself to be a dictator president.
