Giving a Spring look to your home starts the year off with a fresh look to take you through to the warmer seasons, after the cold of winter. Daffodils and spring flowers look so much nicer against a fresh look. There are many ways you can achieve this, though the tried and tested method that I use seems to make the home into a great place to be whatever the season. I have outlined below, the things which I perform every year as part of looking after the house, and changing the look for the spring.

*Lighter days.

*Shampooing carpets.

*Change of ornaments and artwork

*Cleaning of windows.

*Change of fabrics.

*Addition of flowers.

Lighter days.

We all love lighter days, when the sun pours into the windows. However, we all recognize that this also brights much light on neglected areas of the home as well. Spring cleaning is all about getting rid of the cobwebs of winter and though this may not be literal, this extra sunlight allows us the benefit of being able to see things in perspective, and cleaning all those areas which we have maybe neglected during the winter seasons.

Wiping down all the doors and skirtings, architraves and vacuuming all those hard to reach corners has a two-fold effect. It makes you feel quite good but it also adds a freshness to the place that gives you a great start to the warmer seasons. Your paintwork lasts longer, and your home looks fresh and clean.

Look at other areas of neglect. The spring clean can include cleaning up the grouting in between the tiles, and there are great products available these days, to get them back to their clean condition, which makes them look so nice. The sealant around the bathtub doesn't take much to change, and if this needs it, looks very fresh when it is done.

Shampooing carpets.

Nothing gives the springtime a better lift off than shampooing the carpets in the home. It gets right down inside the weave of the carpet and makes the whole place look more colorful and clean. This is the ideal season, since the sunshine will mean faster drying times.

Change of ornaments and artwork.

Here, changing the ornaments around can make the house look great. It also gives you a chance to wash down ceramic ones, or to polish wooden items, making them look clean and fresh. I find that choosing different placements can actually make a room look so different, and variety is good, as it gives you incentive to keep your home looking great.

You may remember when you bought certain artwork and tried it in different places. Now is the time
