Music is an extremely hard vice. However, those who are not passionate for it should inconceivably, have no issue with writing music everyday. Those who are lacking passion, may have lost it along the journey for various reasons, but the primary reason is frustration. To focus on musicianship takes dedication and unfortunately, one needs to have thick skin to attempt to be successful commercially-there will be more failures than successes.
First off, surround yourself with others in the same or a similiar field. For instance, if you are attempting to seriously write music, would be beneficial to submerse yourself with others who are Free Read Psychics? Of course not. See if you cannot join a local guild for musicians. Most people who write music have someone who they know who is associated with the field; use that as a method to get motivated. In fact, this will be very positive because one or more individuals can feed off each other's incredible work ethic.
Another sure-fire method is write down a time which you will do it. This sounds very simplistic but its amazing how great it actually works. Consider how a business plan is operated and how corporate financers brainstorm and write everything down before putting the plan to action. Essentially, this is what you are doing. You are writing down a specific-for all intensive purposes-1-2 hour time frame to specifically work on music and nothing else. In correlation with this, designate a specific time such as 7-9 PM in the event a full-time job or something else creates discrepancies. Performing these actions will maintain a schedule like clockwork. With this action, discipline is a must. In order to do this, seclude yourself from any distractions (including that pestering husband or an annoying sibling) and just write.
Speaking of seclusion, the library is a great place to exercise writing. This provides a limited disturbance while you attempt to put all focus into writing music. I would suggest selecting an alternate room or floor which is used as a "study chamber".
Finally, listening to music works wonders. Take into perspective other arts. Do you think comedians get inspiration by not watching comedy? Therefore, by listening or even watching music compositions, it aids you in your committment to writing music everyday.
The cliche statement is boring and overused but very true, "You can do anything you set your mind to." However, the variable missing from that statement is whether you have the passion to continue. If so, you are well on your way and if not, start praying.
