Poetry: Treasured relationships

by Adnana Saric

Created on: October 17, 2008

Where would I be without you, Mom?

Without your support and care for me.

I remember when cancer ran in my body,

You were there to comfort me,

And when god took the vision from my eyes,

You held me hoping for the best.

Now, the hardship has left our heart,

And live on I healthy I do,

I thank god only for you.

A relationship we do have,

Nothing in this world can break it,

Because it was created when I was a child,

And now I repay you with goodness,

For goodness you gave me too,

Because the cancer would have killed me, had it not been for you.
