right to your door. Depending on what type of build you decide you want or need, it of course can run up a higher bill than buying a store bought PC or ordering one, and that's to be expected. But in general, not all of us need and want a high powered gaming system that will cost a few thousand dollars. Most of us need a basic system for work or a family PC that everyone shares.
When building your own you may spend as little as $400.00 to $550.00 whereas buying one or ordering one you can be spending up to $700.00 or more easily. There is no need to be spending that much when you can get it for much less doing it yourself, not to mention the experience and skills you will attain by putting it all together by yourself, or watching a friend or family member do it and explaining it to you as they go along. You also have a much broader range and selection of parts when you build your own PC. Store bought computers come as you see them on display, and most of them offer very little in store upgrades if any at all. If you order one online through any one of the PC manufacturing companies, You get a few more customization option packages but nothing that is worth the money you will spend on them.
Not to mention the fact that store bought computers are designed so that upgrading is difficult to do on your own, discouraging you from doing the upgrades on your own, and contacting the manufacturer instead, to have pricey upgrades done. This is nothing but a headache and a wallet burner. Do it yourself and save yourself money, headaches and alot of time. You also have one big advantage of building your own PC over buying one that is prebuilt for you. Each part has it's own seperate warranty, so if you decide to change something like your ram configuration, or your operating system or maybe just adding a new componenet to your lineup, you will not void the warranty on the system.
When you order a PC online, or buy one at a store, the warranty that you get as part of the entire package covers the entire system, but not as seperate parts. Meaning, you may decide to change something and end up void the warranty and once you void that warranty, if something goes wrong, you have no coverage anymore and will just have to deal with it. Building your own ensures that you can change anything you want with the exception of changing certain parts on a video card like changing the stock fan out for an aftermarket part, but still you can upgrade parts, change your motherboard, change your ram, video card, hard drive and none of this will void the warranty because each individual part has it's own seperate warranty, and alot of the parts will come with a lifetime warranty provided you register the product upon recieving it.
You will not find a lifetime warranty on any computer you buy in store or order online simply by registering the computer with the manufacturer as soon as you recieve it in the mail, or get it home from the store. You may be able to buy a lifetime warranty yes, but why buy one when you can get one for simply registering something you bought for cheaper anyway? These compelling reasons I have talked about in this article serve as a guide only. In the end it will be up to each person to make up their own mind on this matter but if you are truly thinking of building your own PC, make sure to read this article well and always remember if you want something done, do it yourself!
