Poem: "A Samurai's Tale"

A fine sword-maker would boast

"Buy the set, this time only...last chance

As it will never be made so true as now...

And never so true again..."

The Samurai was not alone, the belief was well abound

The makers of the blade would enhance the warrior

But for you to live was by the "code"

And each morning the promise was made...

Your home was your peace and abode

Daily adorn your being with this blade

As you fabricate this as purpose of stature

Acquire the hardness of a 61...

On the Rockwell C scale of durability

And ensure you obtain the best of a 5 body blade

But...does the blade of a true warrior

Reside in the high carbon steel of trust?

And is this transition to the mune

The true heart of the warrior?

Most true Samurai believe this not!

For the heart of a Samurai is in his belief of true honor...

Honor to his Master, honor to his home

And not to the honor he adorns for show

For show is a preparation for death...

...and each morning after a ritual of rice and prayer,

he leaves his home...knowing...that he must die...

And he will die...with honor
