"Fresh as New Fallen Snow"

The woman sat on the steps of the porch looking out over the hillsides at the new fallen snow. The snow looked so fresh, so new, so clean. She began to think back and remember all the times in her life where she had not made the best decisions and the consequences. If one could only turn back time...

What would it be like to be made fresh and new like the sparkling snow? How wonderful that would be. If one could start life over with no regrets or hurtful memories. Imagine being able to know then what you know now. Would life have turned out differently? She got up and went inside the small house where it was warm and toasty. She was beginning to believe that old age made your mind wander back in time and that was not a good thing. The night was getting late so she decided to go to bed and rest, she was weary. The blankets were soft and the pillows inviting. As she turned out the lights, she said a prayer, "Thank you Lord for allowing me to live another day". "I do believe that at least when I leave this place, I will no longer have bad memories and the world will then be a better place".

The Lord looked down upon the frail old woman and decided to send an angel to speak with her. The angel had to be special because the old woman was pretty down on any spiritual side to life, even life itself. The Lord chose a small child, a little girl with a head full of bouncy curls and a smile that could light the universe. The angels' name was "Purity", just like that beautiful snow. The Lord said to the angel, "I would like for you to visit her, wake her and tell her something that she has done in life that was good, who it helped and why. Tell her that as her Father, I am so very proud of her and I love her very much."

The little angel appeared quickly by the bedside. Purity reached over and touched the cheek of the old woman. The woman woke with a start, grabbed the blanket and whispered "Who are you and what are you doing here in the middle of the night"? Purity smiled the little secret smile and said "The Lord has sent me to reveal some very important information to you". The angel reached out and touched the light and it sprang to life giving off a soft, gentle glow to the room. The woman sat up in bed, pulled up the covers to her chin and waited for the little girl to speak.

Purity reached out and took the hand of the woman and began to tell her about the Lords' love and pride for her. The old woman looked saddened at the thought of it all.
