Imagine just for a moment a life without fear! Sometimes our fears are nothing more than anxiety or worrying about something that we have no control over. Fear of losing our jobs causes more disruption in our life than anything else. Our jobs as we see it is our resource that supplies us with the necessities of life that we become accustomed to that becomes our security blanket. When we lose our job and cannot replace it soon afterwards our "security" begins to unravel. We tend to build a false sense of security by allowing those things in life that are temporal to take control with unshakable constraints. If only we can understand and realize that life doesn't come with a guarantee tag for 120 years without defects in manufactures material and labor. Something is bound to go wrong sooner or later.
It's not the things that go wrong that causes us the problems; but, rather it's how we handle them. Life should be looked at through the eyes of a farmer. The farmer relies on several things that will ensure him a harvest. Cultivating the soil for seed planting, the right time to plant the seeds, making sure that the seeds have plenty of water and sunlight, will not always assure the farmer of a good crop. Although these things are certainly necessary, there are other factors that are needed; but, beyond the farmer's control. Can the farmer control the condition of the soil? Is it rich in nutrients or has it been depleted because of over working the land? Can he be sure of plenty of water if a drought is apparent? What about sunlight there may be ample; but, in a drought the seed will be dormant because of lack of water. Then if this is not enough how about bugs and insects destroying the crops when they do grow? If one of these factors goes against the farmer he is sure to lose the harvest.
Does he fret? I hope not; If he does he's in the wrong business! The farmer knows something that if the average person can learn and learn it well fear and worry will never over take him. The farmer knows the principles of sowing and reaping. He plants in due season, he never assumes the increase, he respects the Sabbath of the land, he anticipates a bumper crop in the sixth year and he sows in faith. Sowing in faith is the key to the farmer's life and he knows and understands that G-D has to give the increase. The Apostle Paul put it best this way "be not deceived G-D is not mocked for whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reaps." Or in essence as Paul put it "my G-D shall
