The Fan
Prickly heat consumes my face,
in need of manufactured breeze,
from the fan that purpose bought,
all too aware of the untimely forecast,
that renders thoughts in muggy haze.
A flick of the switch,
a blue stream in frontal phase,
cooling infected features,
that allow,
the gathering of thoughts,
and a realization that I am hot.

My short breath slashes the air
The heat,
slaps frozen wood on my arms.
A wave of soft sand shudders up my legs.
