will love it, and its healthfulness will be your secret.
How about the famous "candy lady"? We all have one; that special person who loads up on candy to suit everyone's taste, a table full of chocolates and licorice, lollipops and gummies. They are neatly on display and available to any passerby with a sweet tooth. That is when conference calls, emails and instant messaging are the best advice. Some things are better off just avoided! If you have to go past that table of candy, try chewing some mint gum. The mint flavor and freshness makes sugar less tempting.
One of the very best ways to make dieting more successful at work is to get the whole office involved. My office began their own version of the Biggest Loser, with each participant paying a dollar for every pound gained over an 8 week period. The top three losers got their before-and-after photos posted on the bulletin board and the "biggest loser" got the cash prize. The contest was so successful that it led to two more contests back-to-back. These contests made dieting fun, created camaraderie among the staff and got everyone into better eating habits.
Dieting at work will always be a challenge but there are ways to make it easier. These ideas are just the beginning. With a little creativity, you can come up with even more ways to ease the burden and add some fun to what could be a dieter's downfall. Just remember to always have a plan, treat yourself to healthy indulgences that reward your dieting efforts and, if you slip up now and then, don't worry; just forgive yourself, get back on track and keep trying. The effort will pay off in the end.
