God allows suffering? I choose to believe the reasons why there is pain and suffering is to see what human beings will do about their particular circumstances of suffering. For example when my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's I instantly knew he was suffering internally and externally. I was watching him wither away slowly and constantly asking God why do people have to go through this and why do some people get healed while others suffer. He is a child of God and my dad believed in his loving Lord Savior. He was so kind and generous to anyone. Yet this smart man, who was the valedictorian of his class, was suffering through the worst traumatic experience I ever saw. I waited in the hospice all day long and it was around midnight when I was falling asleep and I wanted to be there to say good -bye to him and then there it was I felt it a flick on my head like it was a wakeup call. I yelled out at my sister, "Why did you hit me?" she replied, "I didn't do that" she was standing next to my dad. I realized that my sister and my dad and I were the only ones in the room. I thought to myself it must have been dad's spirit and I quickly jumped out of the hospital bed and ran over towards my dad and his breathing was slower than before and his eyes use to be brown and were pure black and I saw this death a beautiful experience, I gently held my dad's had holding it and telling him to go to his heavenly father now go to Jesus just then I saw with a blink of an eye a bright shining light through those black eyes and a big smile and a nice warm glow over his face and then he tried to say good- bye at his last breath and he passed on and he died on November 5, 1999. He was the best dad that I ever had. I don't blame God for doing this to him because it wasn't God's fault it was his illness that made him suffer but through his suffering I saw something good I saw a bit of heaven take my dad away in a glorious movement that I will always cherish.
The answer to that question why does God allow suffering, in my opinion it is how are we going to conquer suffering when it occurs in our life. What my dad suffered was a bit unbearable for him and painful for me to watch however, I can take it as a beautiful experience and move forward and on with my life which I am plus I think my dad would have wanted me to remember him the way he use to be. In fact, I saw in a dream that night him running into our heavenly father's arms.
Just like Jesus' suffering he picked up that cross and knew that there was a great reason for his sufferings and that it was going to conquer it and it mattered when they hung up there and that he accomplished salvation and through his dilemma we now have freedom of choice to believe.
