placed upon "the arrangement", in any relationship, whether it be one of trust, puppy love, marriage, a friendship, a secret love relationship or staid business partnership. Simple logic dictates that personal choice , ideals, circumstances and expectations can and will always be subject to change.
The fact is, any relationship, no matter how good it may be initially, it may be destroyed if participants work hard enough to dismantle it. Plucking opportunistic threads hanging from the woven illusion eventually results in bigger defects, holes and voids that may never be repaired. With enough manufactured justification to allow the illusion to fade away and little will to repair the damage, deconstruction of any relationship is complete.
Unless one is bent on being self-destructive, it then may be beneficial to consider that the majority of relationships are based upon the perception of personal, desirable, or even "perfect" ideals subsequently applied to imperfect individuals and circumstance. Regardless how perfect a relationship may first appear to the participants, a typically flawed illusion is created, and can just as easily be destroyed.
Does that suggest it is inherently more logical to establish a psychological position closer to awareness and reality in establishing any personal relationship? Yes.
Will human beings continue to wilfully and unnecessarily ignore reality and believe in illusions that ultimately contribute to the destruction of valued relationships?
Observations of contemporary society and changes evident suggest that is the case. Optimists and lovers should continue to hope otherwise.
