Teaching children at home, especially when more than one child is involved, requires many resources, and a variety of teaching tools. Many times children of different learning stages, or grade levels, will require a variety of resources for one topic area that is being studied. Library reference desks may provide a list of available homeschooling resources, however if they do not, here is a list of resources to help you begin, and plan, a study unit on Christopher Columbus and the exploration. Lessons can be fun when games, music, writing, art, history, geography, and even home living skills such as cooking are combined for one unit study.
