I STAND IN AWE BEFORE GOD
In anguish my soul cried out to the one and only God,
And I waited through the darkest night of life.
With mercy and deliverance for my soul,
He brought the light at morn's break.
Now I am filled with faith and hope of eternal life
And I stand in awe before God.
I trust God at his word
And accept his grace and loving gift of life
That washed away my sins and purified my soul.
In loving silence he calmed my heart,
Now all is well with my soul.
I stand in awe before God in the highest
And marvel at his works and amazing power,
His abundant love and saving grace
That extends to lowly creatures, you and me.
Be still my soul and know He is God.
He is the One who directs me to eternal life.
I stand in awe before God, the one and only God
And someday want to see Him face to face.
I stand still in the night to hear his voice;
And in the midst of the dark silence,
He tells me I am his own,
And gently holds me in his arms.
