As a woman I enjoy watching football. I even watch football when my husband is not home! I have actually called my husband to fill him in on the game...sometimes that actually upsets him! I have noticed several differences in past several years that has made it easier for woman to enjoy sports. ESPN has done a fantastic job using females to report on the sidelines and even on their main sportscast "Sports Center".
About five years ago I became a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan with my husband. Being a New Yorker meant that I needed to be able to spit facts at others to get them to understand that I was not kidding with my team loyalty. I would have to say that the first time I realized that the players were not wearing any underwear beneath those tight fitting pants I was hooked! Football players are good looking men, and if you can handle the hard hits it is a very exciting sport.
Football is also a great beer and snacks type of game. If you enjoy being needed, setting up a great spread for a day of Sunday football is a great way to be a appreciated while your husband and friends are enjoying their favorite pastime. My husband and I watched the super bowl at our local pub this past year. It was a great party, but I missed the best part of the super bowl...the commercials! I already started to make plans, regardless of the two teams, I want to throw the super bowl party!
I have yet to see a football game live, but I can't wait to experience it for the first time. With the trying economy right now, I am sure I will have to wait at least one more year! As I watch football games at home the commentators do an excellent job explaining the game. Now I am able to tell a penalty before the referee calls it. The Sunday morning countdown on ESPNalso does a great job explaining the teams, players and coaches. I enjoy hearing stats and facts that compare current players to the classic players. Most of which I didn't have the honor of watching in action myself. I have been enjoying the commentators lately because they are the greats from when I was a child, so I could listen them talk all day long!
Ladies...football is a no holds bar, hard hitting exciting game. There are only sixteen weeks of football not counting the playoffs. Unlike other sports it is one game elimination so the duration of the sport is not dragged on for an extra month! Football is during the time of the year when you want to be snuggled up to your man and enjoying the holidays! Watch the football with them, and I promise the fall and winter months will go by much smoother! I am almost positive you will enjoy some part of this game.
