There's a side of me, that is cold
chilling thoughts, of growing old
The snow falls on my lonely porch
icy stars reflect upon this burned out torch
Kindled within, there is a feeling
distant memories, initiate a distant healing
Inside of me, I think of someone dear
closer to me now, they are very clear
My heart is cracking, the ice, it melts
blood runs freely, between these welts
Warm tears, falling from my eyes
softening features, deep breath, full of sighs
There you are, after all these years
I never knew, you could forget those tears
My back is turned, toward this hearth that warms
I am sorry that I did not know, this love in many forms

You wiped the flakes
Off my face
