Yardwork, like raking leaves and trimming the hedges are great ways to spruce up your home while getting in shape. Inviting a friend for an afternoon tennis match will help ease your stress level after a busy day, or take bike ride with the kids after school. This will not only improve your fitness level, but give you some good, old fashioned family time.
While fall truly is a perfect time to be outdoors, a little creativity will help you get more active indoors as well. When the new seasons of television begins, try the "3-minute workout." Exercise during each of the commercial breaks, which last an average of 3 minutes. Jumping jacks, crunches, hand weights and push-ups are just a few examples of perfect "3-minute" workouts. By using this routine, your new fall shows will offer you more than just entertainment.
Every season offers unique opportunities to add new activities to your day and autumn is no exception. Whether you decide to strap on some ankle weights and walk the mall, keeping your eye out for some early holiday ideas or head outdoors to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, make sure you take advantage of the splendor of autumn to revise your fitness routine. The cool, crisp air will rejuvenate your body and spirit, and the variety will make staying in shape fun and easy.
